Paid off CC!
« on: December 15, 2014, 07:40:44 AM »
Found this site and ReadyForZero around the same time in August, which coincidentally was around the time that my 0% interest rate on my credit card disappeared. I was not happy paying that interest and decided to stop carrying around my ~$2K balance and get rid of it once and for all, so I cut back on my silly spending, started paying off the card in big chunks, and now, 4 months later just made my final payment and WILL NEVER CARRY A BALANCE AGAIN! :)

Very excited to start using those $500 chunks of money towards my student loans now-the plan is to be posting something similar about paying off all of my student loans this time next year!

Congratulations!  No credit card debt is a great place to be!  Was it hard setting aside the $500 each month, or was it easy because you knew that you'd be debt free. Can't wait to see your next student loan free update!

It was a challenge, but not extremely hard! Once I get an idea in my head, it is hard to stop me...luckily, the idea was that I was determined to pay off that credit card! Mostly because I was mad at myself for letting it accumulate there until the interest kicked in.

Finding Money Mustache helped me a whole lot-you all showed me clearly the areas that I was wasting money on, and now I am on my way to a very mustachian lifestyle, hopefully one with no student loans very soon on the horizon, and early retirement not far after that!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
