Title: Paid off a $30K debt today! With a twist. ..
Post by: Urchina on December 11, 2015, 02:53:58 PM
Paid off a $30k debt today. What makes this an example of Mustachian badassity is that it's a debt we owed ourselves - we reallocated money from our kids' college fund to put a down payment on our house 2 years ago and have been refilling that pot since.

So glad that's done and we can move on to the next financial goal!

Good for you. I believe the only fair thing to do is calculate what the college fund investments would have earned in two years and refill the pot accordingly. Eighteen years is not a ton of timeline to completely fund a college education, so two years out of the market really effects the total. Congrats, but keep going just a little bit longer. Now, if your kid's funds are fully loaded, please disregard this comment.
