On behalf of this guy - restore your own 19th century castle

"Restoration Home - Big House", episode six.
Wasn't sure where to post this, but settled on this forum as this must surely be one of the most bad-ass restoration jobs I've ever seen.

Early 19th century stone/brick 3 story mansion was abandoned and left to ruin.  This guy decided he wanted to own and restore it, and sells house, business and starts getting down and dirty to restore it on the cheap.

Examples of his bad-assery : He did most of the work himself, with some help from friends.  He used materials found washed up on the river banks (such as to create a fireplace to warm them up as they worked), bought a old water tank (??) and cut it up to create very nice window sills and door porch - apparently he was quoted a ton of money to do fancy pants masonry, instead he decided to DIY it with the tank.  He also found a perfectly good stairs/ladder from a town hall that was being demolished/rebuilt.  Laid the concrete floor himself, again with some help.

Well worth watching, and wow what a view!!
