I am the only one in the area who does my government job. It is currently in a location that is far from home, my husband can walk to work, I need to drive 26 km. I actually leave the city where we live, to go to a smaller community. I recently changed departments, same job, but convinced them of the benefits of me being in the city. They think it is a great idea and will be moving me to the city on Thursday! I will be about 5km from home. So it never hurts to ask, the worst they could have done is leave me in my current space.
