1. DH and I did our projected budget for the next six months. We have done this before, but never this much in depth, and never with this much POSITIVITY : )
2. Finished our February budget ahead by 150€... didn't spend in a lot of our planned categories.. .notably for me, clothes and make-up!
3. Love the idea of each time we go in a store and DON'T spend on a thing, the Store has Paid Us that Amount ; )
4. EVen though we are going to have to pay back taxes to the French government to the tune of 9K euros roughly, we are finding that our idea of living only on DH's Salary and eliminating my tiny one is not as horrible and impossible as we thought (far from it...who'd have thought!) and that we should be back on track with our Emergency cash fund rather fast (saving 600 euros a month for now plus occasional extras/bonuses)...
The best news for me - seeing how entirely possible it is to live well on just DH's salary - and putting my entire earnings into retirement - not a big amount but still (500-600 a month). The hard news - we could have been doing this for a long time by now - and could have started much earlier. Tant pis, c'est la vie...
