Title: My DH is a badass
Post by: MEJG on October 02, 2015, 10:47:58 AM
Dh started bike commuting to work 1-2x week 10 miles each way- with the intention of working up from there.  This is after a 4 year bike hiatus.  I think he's pretty Badass!

My wife is similarly badass. She will either ride her bike or run to work at least twice a week. This morning, despite the fact it was cloudy and looked like it could rain - she RAN (7km)!

Not only saving gas and wear and tear on our truck, but she is gettin' damn fit doin' it! Win, win.

Badass spouses RULE. :)

My wife walks to work every single day... Granted it's on the same block as we live so she's not particularly badass :)

I bike to work 60% of the time.

I hate to admit this, but I get jealous of all you people that have commutes you can bike or walk/run. I telecommute, so anytime I walk/bike to the coffee shop, I feel like a fraud. :)

i wish I could bike to work. But here in DFW it's just over a million degrees out in the morning, and worse at night. Also, work is surrounded by highways and terrible neighborhoods on all directions, so it's just not going to pan out. I am getting my bike squared away for errands and groceries! I figure only drive to work or if I need to move stuff for projects, bike the rest. seems fair to me.

That's great!
my spouse walks to work every day. I drive 17 miles each way... I guess we even each other out.

I live in Fort Worth.  I fired my company and got a telecommute job, so I don't have that to deal with.  However, biking is easier than you think. I got an ebike from Small Planet EBikes in S. Dallas.  For anything within 2-3 miles, I can get there and back and not be dripping.  The ebike also lessens the wind that we deal with.  Also, Google maps knows where the bike trails and bike lanes are, you would be surprised at how many there are.  I'm also figuring out which parking lots and back allies I can cut through and avoid traffic.
