We had an impromptu dinner party for our family plus two other couples on Saturday night. It occurred to me by that by taking advantage of grocery store sales, we fed 7 adults and two toddlers for a TOTAL of about $9.00. Here's the breakdown:
Chicken leg quarters bought at $0.49/lb (~8 lbs, or about $4.00)
Onions, spices for chicken legs cooked in crockpot ($0.50)
2 crowns of broccoli (~$2.00)
4 cups of cooked rice with spices ($1.50)
1/2 loaf of leftover Irish Soda Bread ($1.00)
I call that a win!
