We've been putting off increasing our 401k contributions to stockpile money for a downpayment, but my income is low enough that maxing out my 401k takes up almost 50% of it annually, so I couldn't wait any longer. I called today to increase my contributions to 77% of my paycheck as of June to max out my 401k by year end. The rep audibly gasped, the collected himself and completed the request. In a couple months we'll do the same w/my husbands. Can't wait to see that balance start to accumulate!
