This is pretty small potatoes in the scheme of things, but it's a big thing for me because I didn't think I was that fit. We're on holiday in Germany and the people I'm staying with want us to cycle into town with them. I say, 'It's not too far, is it?' and they reassure me that it's not. We go out and spend the day riding past beautiful old buildings, rivers, lakes, birds and through the picturesque centre of town. I completely revised my idea of how much cycling I could do in a day!
