Late night money saving.
« on: October 26, 2017, 03:28:44 AM »
I read somewhere that people often make off the cuff purchases online, at night. They are tired, not thinking straight, get excited about something, and click the buy-now button, etc.

Well, here it is about an hour ago at 1:30am, and I'm researching dog food for our fluffy little dog, Geronimo (aka G'money. My wife thinks it's a cute pet nickname. I call him G'money as in, "Gee, look at at this money this little ball of love will cost us).

So here I am, thinking about how I can get a quality dog food for G'money, and I start checking out prices. Amazon tells me I can get a $40 discount on my next purchase, plus 5% off all Amazon purchases, if I sign up for their Amazon store card. I read the fine print, and realize it's legit $40 savings. Sign up, instantly get approved, and buy my big ass bag of gourmet dog food for $17. Should last this little money-pit around 6+ weeks.

I felt like I was pulling "free money" out of thin air in the middle of the night.

So my question is to you. What wonky tactic, unorthodox method, or screaming deal did you come across / bring to fruition in the middle of the night in your frugal stupor?

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
