Well done!
In Seattle, there's a Goodwill "Outlet Store" - also called the 'Pound' store - where they sell everything by-the-pound.
Google goodwill outlet, and you'll get various tips - the one I use is: wear rubber gloves. Also, arrive at the opening time, and bring your own carrying bag(s). This is a bit of a treasure hunt... Customers pick through waist high rolling bins of material: clothing, books, toys, linens and bedding all mixed together. When you find something you like, you take it to the checkout, they weigh it, and you pay by-the-pound.
This year's back-to-school haul: 4 shirts (2 for me, 2 for my son) Total: $4.89.
After the pound-store, I went to my favorite Value Village where the selection is very good. On a SALE day example: "Labor Day - Sept. 1st - All clothing, furniture (etc) 50% off marked prices". I looked around, found a couple of shirts that looked interesting, and a pair of pants or two... called my teenage son and ended up with 11 items - shirts and pants for $33.50. And yes... I'm sitting here in the office-drone slacks, and black oxford shirt from the Thriftshop. Thank you Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - more than a song, a fashion and decorating source.
