Adjustable Heigh Desk for cheap!
« on: July 15, 2018, 02:18:36 PM »
So, I spend a lot of time sitting at home due to work and from time to time suffer from a few things related to being sit down a lot!

Aside from also posture, I wanted to avoid spending and pressuring my bottom as much, and after reading a few causes and reasons I though a standing desk so not to spend 8 hours a day sitting would be a good choice.

Until I started researching for standing desks! The cheapest I could find was the autonomous one ... all the serious reviews I saw, all said they were crap cheap materials... for the budget conscious, the Jarvis desk would be the better one but still coming at around 400-500 range.

Until the other day at Home Depot I sighted a Husky Work beanch

And boom! Got the idea for my current setup!

I went for the cheapest one and it cost me around 120$ for the smallest one which is 46 inches...

You may think that's small but wait a minute! I agree! ...

I loved my current/previous desk which is a tempered glass architect desk with just some A-frame legs ... I measured my glass top and thought since my glass already sort of overhangs the legs I could do the same on the new base...

So, I measured my top glass and also the A-frame legs. The A  frame legs sat precisely 46'' apart and I believe I have about 6 inches overhang on each side!... So my desk top is about 60''

I just got it done and it works fantastic!! and to be honest... the black with the clear glass looks just great!! I am not using the caster wheels and am instead using the feet. It looks pretty great if I may say!

And the work bench top, can be used with the A-legs as well somewhere else as a little support desk or something somewhere else!

Not to mention... aside from all the others being rated poorly, main compain was stability and load capacity being low...

This one feels solid even at highest setting and is rated for 500lbs - not with the current setting of course, I assume the glass would break before the 500lbs!

This is awesome! Does it say Husky on both sides? Do you think it would be easy-ish to remove the Husky logo? I really like the wood top but the Husky logo would look a little weird in my office. Not that it's really important.

Only that one is visible... To be honest, it seems very easy to remove. It feels like it is some type of hot glue/sticker type.

I agree the top is pretty attractive as well. and it's solid wood btw... heavy as shit!

I can probably resell that wood table for the same price of what i bought the table :D

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
