I'm a keen cyclist, and whilst many of my peers opt for £2000 carbon fibre bikes, I came to the realisation that I had enough spare bits to almost build myself another bike!
I bought the frame and a few bits, and started building yesterday. However, when it came to fitting the star fangled nut in the fork steerer (explanation here -
http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/star-fangled-nut-installation), my usual method of tapping it in with a small screwdriver simply wasn't working. I was also worried I was going to damage something.
I looked at the tools to do the job, but they were coming in between £20 and £50. For something I've done three times in my life, that wasn't worth the outlay. I then came across this video on YouTube :

To cut a long story short, I went to Toolstation, got a 1m M6 threaded rod for £2, some M6 nuts and a penny washer and hey presto! A perfectly fitted SFN with no damage whatsoever.
I am disproportionately happy with this!
