I fixed my cheap headphones
« on: November 13, 2017, 10:26:06 AM »
Since I frequently listen to my pods I frequently used to replace headphones when the padded part fell off since I prefer ones that go on your head not the buds.  While mumbling over the fact I was going to have to replace another pair I had a dim light bulb go off why not just push it back in with something narrow? This worked for a week until another bulb went off why not use my really good jewelry glue to push it in so it doesn't keep coming out? As of now this has worked so now I am going to go out on a limb and attempt to repair two more pairs of them and they will hopefully work again.  It's a small thing so unless there is something wrong with the jack part or wiring I will now be repairing more of them.  Where do you buy the padded parts I wonder because I have another pair I'd like to resurrect.

Depending on the brand of your headphones, eBay might be your best option for replacement parts.

One pair is Koss the ones I fixed were discount from Lidl's and the ones I am thinking of trying to fix might be Sony or really cheap Koss brand.  The Hello Kitty ones the metal prongs keep sliding out of one side so they have been glued and are sitting waiting to see if the bonds take.

I don't understand what you mean by "Push (the foam) in".
On my headphones, the foam (or it's cover) goes around the the speaker.

That's what I meant sorry the foam.  The others are still sitting waiting for the glue to set.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
