I am a millionaire - And you can, too!

I know it's an arbitrary number. I know it will fluctuate with market moves. I know the market has been kind. It's short of my FIRE number.

BUT, today, at ages 54 and 53, spouse and I are MILLIONAIRES! And that's not even including home/business equity or value of belongings. Just retirement accounts and cash.

In my 20's, 30's, and even into my 40's, I never thought this would happen.

No tips or tricks to pass on here that aren't already all over this forum. No magical sauce - just LBYM, invest the difference.

Congrats on achieving this milestone!  We keep hitting it over and over again due to the market.  I've got to say the first time hitting it is the most exciting.  All the other times I second guess myself for not having sold while it was high the last time.

One of the nice things about only checking every six months is that we have yet to cross any particular milestone twice. We kind of flew by this particular milestone, but only after spending a full year slowly creeping up on it.

Congrats! I also passed that milestone this month. Feels kind of weird to think of yourself as a millionaire.

It's a tremendous achievement -- and you'll find out how fast the second million creeps up.  For me, the first $1M took over 20 years.  the 2nd took 3 years.

Congratulations!

This is where the fun begins. In a shorter amount of time you'll be at $2m and then after that you may even increase NW by $1m in a year or two. It seems unbelievable until it happens.
