Title: HVAC OFF For Almost A Month
Post by: chemistk on April 30, 2017, 08:12:25 PM
This may seem like small beans to some, but it's been nearly a month since I turned the thermostat to "off." Why is this a big deal? Here in PA we've already had a number of humid upper 70s to lower 80 degree days. My wife is also pregnant and very temperature sensitive - last night I was about ready to cave after seeing the interior temp at 76 at 10pm, but she just stuck the box fan in the window and said there was no reason to turn on the A/C.

Looking at the forecast, it's looking like we'll be able to make it at least a few more weeks like this!

Oh and to boot today marks the fifth family bike outing we've taken, something we've wanted to do for a few years now.

Wow, she sounds like a trooper!

Stay safe first and foremost! If everything is fine, good on you!

I love having the thermostat off. I'm in Pa too. I get about 2 months in Spring and 2 months in Fall with the thermo totally off. I have a heat pump and want to keep that beast as unused as possible so it will last longer.

Shades open to let sun in when wanted, closed when not wanted. Windows cracked open to let cool air in, but only if it's not too humid.
