How We Improved Our Bottom Line by Quitting...
« on: November 13, 2013, 06:55:57 PM »
Hello Mustachians,
I wrote an article for www.403bwise.com explaining why we feel the need to quit our jobs periodically.  Basically, quitting provides us the opportunity to improve our retirement investment options.  Sometimes you have to quit to win.

Here's the link:  http://403bwise.com/403bstories/index.html

Dear Ed,

You're my ****ing hero.

Signed,
A fellow teacher.

My wife and I max our 457s and next year will start to contribute to our 403b in addition. Unfortunately we are both special area teachers in a part of the country that is teeming with applicants and has a paucity of openings. So we can't even consider giving up our tenure (we have that too) in order to access out tax-deferred accounts.

But this, sir, is why you are my hero. Please keep updating your blog, I thoroughly enjoy it.

Wow, I have a 403b and after reading your post I realized how complex it really is.  I'll need to spend more time researching my own plan now.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
