OK drummers, picture this: you sit down at your kit, ready to groove your ass off, when suddenly you notice it. Is that a hair? A scratch? A thread? Nope…..it’s a crack. Tiny at first but sure to grow. Even worse, eventually that crack will put out the call to all his friends and family, attracting even MORE cracks. If that cymbal is out of warranty, it’s only a matter of time before your precious cymbal becomes useless, ready to go into the dump, or for mustachians the scrap yard. No other options right? WRONG!!!
Save up those wounded warriors and ship them back to your cymbal manufacturer with a request for a replacement and enjoy one or two FREE CYMBALS!!! The last time I did this I sent in six or seven old cymbals and received a 16” crash and a 21” mega bell ride. That’s $500 in cymbals for FREE!!!
Here is the simple procedure:
Fill a box up with the old cymbals. A good ratio is about 3-4 old cymbals for each new one you’re requesting. I also tend to only send cymbals from that manufacturer (ex. only send Zildjians to Zildjian, Paiste to Paiste, etc.)
A note explaining that even though the cymbals are out of warranty you would like to request a replacement, and specify what type of cymbal you would like (crash, ride, hihats, china, etc.).
Ship the box to the company’s customer service address (should be easy to locate on their website).
Wait a few weeks.
Receive a box of new cymbals and start rocking out again!!
