Inside the 10 year mark - By current projections
« on: July 30, 2015, 12:03:15 PM »
Just realized i've been saying 10 years til retirement for over a year now.  projected date is 2024 by my nifty little spreadsheet.  So only 9 years to go.

Way to go! My plan is to retire that year as well! But probably won't be until the very end of the year!

Yes that is what mine is based on too... year end projections.  which i guess makes it 9.5 but thats still a sub 2 digit number.

Plus i have a side hustle thats taking off right now not currently included in my spreadsheet til i get more resolution.  That has the ability to cut it down to 5 or less if it continues to perform along current trends.

For sure! Under 10 is a great feeling!

I was in this camp, but I recently pulled mine in by following MMM. Now I'm headed for June 2021. Keep up the good work, it does pay off.

thanks,

yeah we could easily cut some more fat move closer to work etc. we're very high earners so attaining a 65% savings rate can be done without trimming fat.  If it were just me and I werent married i would probably be closer to work and biking, but its not and i'm happy with where we're at. but cutting another 10k in spending could be very easy.

Nice! It's good to keep making progress. Keep trimming away at the excess and see how much further you can drop that target date.

Now that is a truly enviable position to be in - sounds like you have a good grip on the finances and understand that a happy medium within a marriage is a very good thing. Kudos, smart man:)
