Just hit 50K networth, about a year out of college! Can't really share with family or most of my friends so figured I would share here.
About me:
23 years old
Industry: Advertising
Role: Analyst
Annual Salary: 42 + 6K bonus most of last year. Late last year increased to $56K, no bonus. Might get another bump soon (hopefully).
I am really excited about this! And really this was only possible after having found the MMM philosophy, so thanks to you all as well. :)

Good work! :)

You should give yourself more credit: having a NW of 50k a year out of college means you found a way to thread the needle of going to school without accumulating piles of debt.
Congratulations!

Thanks Tigerpine! Again, had a lot of amazing support there in getting a scholarship to finish off college without debt. Seeing and helping my brother pay for the first year is a pretty eye-opening experience into how good I had it.

Kick ass AdMan!

Good job, congratulations!

23 and talking about reaching net worth goals.
Very nice job!

Awesome job! That is a huge accomplishment for anyone especially someone your age. I was in my 30s before I hit that milestone.

No kidding! That's my current NW and I'm 33. I imagine where you'll be in 10 years, AdMan!

Just put a - in front of your net worth and we're about the same! Borrowing so much money for school has got to be both the dumbest and smartest thing I've ever done. Glad to see you did it without the debt!
-
For being 23, having a $50,000 net worth is incredible. A lot of people your age are in the hole $50k with student loans. The way you're going, you'll be retired in no time.

Brilliant! good job.
-
but with the current market my 401k has been horrid.
What?? We're 5% off the all-time high! That said, good job to both of you to be nicely positive well before 40.

Great work! I am just about 34 and have about 30k in student loan left! I wish I had been as brilliant as you when I was young. I bet you will be retired by the time your ma age :)
-
Congratulations! And I'm totally not surprised. From previous posts you really sound like you have your act together, glad you reached this milestone and can see the payoff from the accumulation of many smart actions taken consistently!

How is that possible? Are you invested primarily in something other than index funds?

I'm not sure what you're invested in, but VTI opened at ~104.3 today off the high of ~110. That's 5.2% off the all time high.
Congratulations, OP! Your situation seems pretty similar to mine; I hope to join you at the 50K mark around this time next year.
