Title: Growing the Mom's Mustache
Post by: ginjaninja on January 23, 2018, 10:59:28 AM
This month has been really good at helping my family become more Mustachian.

Yesterday the conversation went like this:
Mom: "I need an instapot, look at all of the things it can do, it's a slow cooker, a pressure cooker, and a rice cooker!"
Me: "Mom you already have a crock pot, a pressure cooker, and a rice cooker.  Why do you need one more thing in your kitchen?"
Mom: "But this could do all of those things in the same place!"
Me: "Why don't you use what you have for now and if in a month you still want it, I will get it for your birthday?"
Mom: "You're right, that sounds good."

Lesson Learned: My mom has an amazon addiction and we are slowly getting there one $100 appliance at a time.

I also gave them the challenge of not throwing away any food in January and their grocery bill has dropped by over half.

It is kind of fun going trough this transition with my family.  We will all be better off in the future!

OR she could sell all 3 of those items on craigslist and buy the instapot with the proceeds.

**I love my IP**

^^^ exactly:) - and Target has the Instapot on sale at $69.99 this week with a "free" $10 Target card thrown in.

I've been having a similar conversation with myself - it is definitely a space win and I don't own a rice cooker, mainly because I have no idea how to use one. We're pasta and potato fans, but I like that you can even bake in that Instapot.

Edited to add: Either way - it is awesome when you get the family on board - everybody wins and gains more green soldiers - just don't forget to put them to good use or it is all for naught.
