Free credit monitoring for a few years? What a joke. The information leaked will always be out there now (and is now in the hands of anyone willing to pay for it), and at any point in the future can be used to steal your identity. Further, where's the compensation for all the time and expense necessary to fix things once your identity is stolen?
This sort of utter, catastrophic failure should have real consequences.
