Wife and I started cutting expenses. Simple things at first like Netflix, Spotify, Playstation Online accounts and others. Stopped eating out as much and when we did we split meals. I had 3 cars all worth 25K or more. We ended up selling most of the stuff we had we didn't use much. Ended up with just over 100K in the bank. Left both or jobs and went travelling for 6 months. Best experience ever. Were both in our mid 20's.
Having some money around is really nice and make me feel good. Lots of friends are always stressing about it and keep buying more stuff. I just don't get it. Well I do, and its about keeping up with the Jones 21st century style. Cut back and live more simple. It's very rewarding.
Now that we are back from our trip we bought a small house near Vancouver thats only a 20 minute bike ride to work down nice street. Rent is way to high or else I would have done that.
Main thing I have learned is less is more. I have less stuff now, only the important things. They get much more use.
