First of all, thank you Mustachians! My husband submitted a post to the forum a few months ago describing the pounding we were getting from our 2nd mortgage (yay for us for buying a house in 2005!). You all helped us get over the emotional issues tied to that debt and I am happy to say we have paid the damn thing off! We are no longer upside down on our house! We were on such a roll, that we also paid off some credit card debt I shamefully had and my high interest student loans. Overall, we paid off around $40,000 of debt in less than a year. It gets better! During that year we also had our crazy awesome daughter! That was fun, however we did endure 6 months of unpaid maternity leave during this time. I am happy to report that we have taken all that frugal fitness and are now applying it full speed ahead to early retirement. Thank you again!
