fixed my own a/c
« on: July 10, 2014, 06:55:04 PM »
My A/C was blowing room temperature air... checked it out and the fan wasn't spinning.
After a bit of research I learned it was probably the capacitor... so I bought a new one (cheap part) and replaced it... now the A/C works again!
Saved a $100+ contractor bill... my best DIY repair to date woot!

(and no going without a/c isn't an option since I rent out rooms in the house ^^)

Amazing!!  Where I have lived it is a lot more than $100 to fix that part, by the way...  You did awesome!

My understanding is that if you upgrade to a flux capacitor this problem should not re-occur.

Nice!  It's amazing how many electronic fixes are just replacing bad caps.  Happens a lot with TVs/computer monitors.
