I applied for the Barclays US Airways Mastercard because of the sign up bonus and my upcoming travel plans. When I applied the offer was only 40,000 miles, but since they upped it to 50,000 miles, I emailed them to see if they could give me the extra 10,000 miles and they said yes! All you have to do is make one purchase and pay the $89 annual fee, which is pretty much like buying 50,000 US Airways/American Airlines miles for only $89.

Just signed up for it myself a few days ago.

They're also offering $25 for using paperless statements. If you're already signed up for paperless, just go in and swap to paper statements. When you go back tomorrow, you will get a popup offer.
