First Step Towards Badassity
« on: October 21, 2013, 12:31:55 PM »
I biked to the grocery store today for the first time.  I purchased a used bike trailer on Craigslist last week and was excited to start using it.  Prior to reading the MMM blog I would have never considered biking to the store  even though it is only four miles from my home.  (Oh, and the four miles are on a paved bike trail.)

While I was checking out the bagger asked me if I wanted her to wheel my groceries out to my car.  I told her no thanks because I actually rode my bike to the store and was parked right outside the door at the bike rack.  She asked if I lived close by and I replied, "Yeah, only four miles away." When I told her that she looked at me like I had just told her I biked in from another state.  I guess some people have a different definition of what close by means.  :)

You and me. :) Bike to work everyday since May but don't use the bike to get around the Nab (which is very walkable). Had some things to do and did the --- why are you not using your bike! head smack. Got the bike rack, got some panniers, put them on and got the fresh bread from the bakery, did my banking and zipped home. There were even dedicated bike racks at each place I stopped.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
