a personal best
« on: March 29, 2015, 02:45:16 PM »
My goal with my credit card is to keep it below $800 a month.  This includes all gas, groceries, household cleaners, dog food,  etc.  Basically everything except for monthly bills, tithing, and eating out.  'This isn't great by MMM standards but it is my goal.  Last month those expenses were less than $550.  That has never happened before.  I must be doing something right.  Yeah!

why is eating out not included? I would be more likely to set a limit for eating out than dog food.

Because we never use our credit card at restaurants.  I don't like the idea of people disappearing from sight with my credit card.  We do budget our eating out.  We eat one restaurant meal ($30 -$ 35) and one breakfast out each week.  Maybe one other time we will pick up a fast food meal and bring it home but not frequently.
