First Gen iPad - DIY Fixed

We had this thing since it first came out (circa 2010; won it in a giveaway contest - free $0).
ran over it recently with her office chair as the iPad was charging on the ground (teens!).
Could have probably bought one for cheaper on ebay, but why not fix ours, myself.
$75/new replacement glass and tools.

Wasn't as difficult as one might say. Took me about 1 hr to replace but only because I was just learning. If I have to do it again, then it will be much easier.

Note: the clips are strategically placed. Google/locate where the clips are before rotating tool to pull unit out of case or buy more clips. I only broke a couple, but does not seem to be an issue.

Nice.

I replaced an iphone 4 screen and feel exactly the same way. Just take your time and be careful with sensitive clips and it's a piece of cake

Nice!

I replaced an iPhone 5 screen about a year ago and it lasted until my wife got a new phone through work.

Thx y'all. Maybe I can make it a side gig now for a 2nd income. ;)

Barrett Sun you're welcome. I knew someone might find them useful.

I considered getting a new iPad because ours is "outdated" and gives us issues trying to update  but 1) thats expensive and 2) she only watches videos on it. So I deemed to fix it. Glad I did. New skill.
