Congratulations! The first time I changed my rear brake pads and a rotor, I was quoted a similar figure as you. I bought Rhino ramps, jack stands, a rolling jack, brake pads, the rotor, and a breaker bar for much less than the dealership quoted me and had a ton of fun learning something new. I love changing my own oil too; while the margin isn't huge, depending on your car, I find myself buying higher quality filters, full synthetic oil, and the knowledge that I did everything right to be very satisfying.
Oil change places tend to tighten to filters way too much and at Jiffy Lube, long ago, my wife had an oil change done where they didn't put the plug back in the oil pan. She turned around and drove back after she left and noticed her car didn't feel right. Their response, "Oops." Oil's too important of a part for me to pay someone who's more interested in volume work than quality work, especially since in that work environment, people's brains are set on automatic and it's easy to not notice you forgot one important detail.
