Ok, so it's a teeny tiny badassity compared to many of you, but I'm super stoked. I rode my bike to work for the first time today! It's only 3.2 miles, but when I first started biking, right before winter, I was SOOOO cardiovascularly out of shape, I couldn't even manage a flat mile, let alone a slight incline. Been working on the stationary bike all winter. Did my "test run" on Sunday and survived the round-trip.
Now I can't wait till 5:00 so I can RIDE HOME! And do it again tomorrow!
My hands got quite chilly in my thin neon yellow gloves (34* outside) so tomorrow I'll see if I can squeeze my cheapie knit gloves on underneath. It's too late in the season for me to worry about fancy warm gloves. As soon as I got to work, my hands warmed right up.
I got a nice balaclava for Christmas, so my head/face was warm. And it's not warm enough outside for me to get sweaty, so I rode in with my work clothes on - rubber band around the pant cuff, wearing my tank top, with my cardigan & work shoes packed in my bike basket. I'll probably want to change once summer comes, though.
My goal for 2015 is to ride to work 50 times.
I feel so GOOD!
