I've got a 10 year old Igloo chest cooler that has been on many adventures. A few years back the plastic hinges and latch broke. The lid still nested on top well enough to keep using it, but it was a bit annoying and an accidental bump could leave it open if not corrected. Finally got around to putting some new hardware on it. Used $1.99 zinc plated steel hinges and a padlock hasp I had laying around. Should be good for another 10 years at least. Took me less than 5 minutes to do, not quite sure why I put it off for so long, probably more lack of badassity!

Good work, I did a very similar fix on one of the really big coolers.
