Fend off those Pumpkin spice cravings.
« on: August 29, 2015, 12:47:17 PM »
I am going to whip up a batch of this and add it to my morning Latte this fall.

http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/20477/pumpkin-pie-spice-i/

I also have also just created a new smoothie Carot Mango recipe.

Here it is:

1 cup loose packed frozen mango chunks
2 tablespoons of maple yoghurt
~1 cup Carot Juice ( I use Costco bolthouse farms)

I mix all in a magic bullet but use whatever blender method you have.

Put mango in cup and microwave 30s
I find they are too frozen & don't blend well otherwise (disaster my first attempt)
You could maybe leave in fridge overnight or use fresh.
Add 2 table spoons yoghurt. (This is optional but it tasted better than without. I had maple in frigo that had to be used up. I would try with vanilla or plain & maybe add a teaspoon of syrup to taste)
Add carrot juice to cover fruit. More or less depending on desired thickness.

Blend until smooth.

Top with pumpkin spice above.

Gloat internally as you walk past Starbucks.

Thanks for the recipe.  Someone posted this pumpkin spice syrup recipe using actual pumpkin a few years ago and I have been using it every fall to make my own pumpkin spice lattes.  I just add the syrup into my drip coffee since I don't have an espresso machine and it is great!  Sometimes I even add whipped cream!

I make a pumpkin pie smoothie (from the oh she glows cookbook).  Super healthy and tasty!  I also do a homemade pumpkin spice syrup, made with pumpkin puree.

Canned pumpkin and chai syrup in a vanilla protein shake  is both very tasty and filling

I'm going to whip this up today.  I have leftover pumpkin from making muffins earlier this week.  Thanks for sharing!
