Just completed mowing the lawn for the second time with my person powered lawn mower and today I turned it up a notch by doing the edges with scissors. Savings so far $140. So proud of myself.

That's some great savings! Congratulations! That's twice what I save by cutting my own hair. :) The edging must look great with that kind of attention. What makes me laugh, is that I know so many people who spend a LOT of money on gym membership, while at the same time paying a LOT of money paying someone take care of their lawn. Yard work is great exercise, and much more satisfying than working out at the gym!

I cut my grass with a handmower too, i have a file to sharpen the blades, works well. From the hardware store

I recently picked up another handmower from the tip, wasn't even in the scrap metal. Its at least 50 years old.

I have edging tools, from charity shops, easy to sharpen with that file, also sharpens spades and other tools.

If you get one wear rubber gloves when sharpening.
