Extra large tax return=no more debt (again!)
« on: February 11, 2016, 09:58:37 AM »
Last year I paid off all debt. However I recently took on some for my wife's tuition so she can re-enter the workforce/launch her own business. Good cause, but I hate debt.

This year taxes were a bit of a mess. I had 3 quarterly bonus from the old job withheld at a higher rate and not adjusted year end like normal due to switching jobs. So I did indeed give the federal govt a $6500 loan. But I got that $$ back yesterday and immediately crushed the wifey's tuition debt. Booyah! I owe nobody nothin yet again. :D

Congrats! Getting a substantial tax refund really isn't the end of the world, especially when you put it to good use!

Congrats!

Remember there's good debt and bad debt.  Good debt = investing in yourself such as tuition, building out a business, etc.  Bad debt = just about anything else :)
