Don't flush money away--sell your poop! (totally serious!)

Only a few will be selected, most likely young and super healthy people. Children too.  Instead of tossing diapers in the trash, you can put them in the mail.  $500 per poop!!  I told my kids this might be all they're qualified to do. lol.  Really the jokes write themselves.

Hm. Presumably this is "income" and would allow children to contribute to a Roth IRA.

Interesting! But also sounds too good to be true.

Becoming a stool donor

  • Complete the screening questionnaire.
  • Complete verification of stool type and physical fitness.
  • A video interview.
  • Stool and blood testing. Paid for by us or the recipient of the stool donation.
  • Get paid $500 per stool donation. If you’re having a bowel movement every day it can total $180,000 per year.
Most recipients will probably be ordering stool via dry ice shipping. The costs of which will be covered by them.

Donors are prepaid for everything. We receive the order and payment from the recipient, then pass it on to the donor, the donor then prepares it and ships it out.

By default, we also keep donors completely anonymous from recipients, in order to maintain your privacy.

What's the catch? For one, I find it deeply uncomfortable that the donor results are on a publicly available Google doc:

Tracking results
We will attempt to track donor results and share those results with recipients in order for recipients to make more informed decisions about risks vs rewards. We cannot do this without participation from recipients, including detailed recipient experience reports.

Donors & recipients may choose to have their information anonymized.

Here are the results from our current active donors: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E9TFLqh9I2ZZhDSvGljyhukU-71fFMmJ/

It is unlikely to be classified as earned income if it is a medical study.

If you get paid for donating blood or plasma, is it earned income or what?  I mean you are selling your blood, not really donating it if you're getting paid. Or is it like hobby income?

This is legit and it's a real need and it's a pain in the butt (I mean the jokes write themselves!) so it makes sense to pay people for their trouble.  It's weird that you can't sell a kidney but you can sell your poop. But you're going to poop regardless and just literally flush it down the toilet, so if you have ideal gut bacteria and can help people with a fecal transplant and get paid for your trouble, you can make a living doing this for a few minutes a day.  Weird planet we live on.

The catch is that over 99% of people will not qualify.  But no harm in trying and if you do qualify you just won the poop lottery.

Once a month pays better than 8 plasma donations and no punctures. Should be a lot less time too. One a week could cover my current income needs.

I'm imagining funding a house purchase and mortgage this way.

Once you start getting paid for pooping you almost won't want to do it for free!  A daily poop can earn you $182,500 a year--more on a leap year.  You'll be investing in fiber tablets before you know it, to keep your income flow regular. (See what I did there)  I bet your fiber tablets, maybe even your groceries, would be tax deductible!  Ha.

I donated poop at work once and the income was included on my paycheck and taxed. Boss makes a dollar.... I make a dollar too!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
