I'm surprised you had such good experience. I got rid of Mint Mobile because it was horrible in Colorado. Basically, if I was outside a city my phone wouldn't work. Also, for whatever reason, whenever I went out of range my phone wouldn't automatically go back in range without a hard reset of my phone. If you ever travel in the mountains, this happens A LOT. It was damn annoying! I wouldn't recommend it for those who aren't close to a populated area or those who travel often, especially camping. I don't usually use the talk feature of my phone, but the few times I did it would frequently turn inaudible, have no sound, or sound like I was talking to a monster.
I'm all for cheap cell phone plans. But I got rid of mint ASAP. It was pretty horrible. I felt bad I even referred it to anyone. Granted, in the summers I travel frequently and sometimes into remote areas which was triggering my main issue. But the talk function didn't work either! I would only recommend it if you don't need your service to be too reliable and you live somewhere populated. If you want to be able to actually rely on your phone I'd pony up the extra $5-$10 a month for a different provider.
