Discounted gift cards

Found a neat site called cardpool.com, I usually buy gift cards at a discount there. I'm sure there are others too.

usually they have walmart cards at at 3% discount - its like getting an additional 3% cashback. (on top of your credit card cashback, since you buy the card at this website using your credit card anyway).

there are many other store's cards also available here, but I've mostly bought walmart's since i use that anyway.

I just recently started using these sites as well and couldn't understand why I hadn't before.  If you buy cards for places you normally make purchases at, it's free discounts.  Restaurants seem to have the best discounts (which I know is not mustacian) but provided you don't eat out more just because you are getting a discount, you could save a ton on your restaurant budget. 

I use Raise.com, they offer an extra 3% off every weekend on select stores which is nice.  One "perk" from using them is that I use topcashback.com to get an extra 1% back by accessing Raise through topcashback.  I've also never had an issue with any of the gift cards I've purchased from Raise.  Also check out giftcardgranny.com, weird name but it's basically the kayak.com of gift card shopping.  In no way am I affiliated with these websites other than the fact I use them to purchase discounted gift cards.

One thing to keep in mind is whether or not the gift card is an e-gift card or if you have to get the physical card in the mail (no extra cost).  Also some cards are only meant to only work in-store as opposed to online (Home Depot and Lowe's have some like this) but it will specify.  Typically you can get a bigger discount if it's an in-store only card.

Does anyone know of a similar site for Canada?  I have $85 worth of gift cards for junk food places that I'd like to get rid of.  These were given out as employee perks, if you can believe it.

Cautionary tale: I bought 18 Walmart.com gift cards from Raise.com (I also use Cardpool) to buy a gift for my parents. The smaller cards had higher % off value, so by buying many, I was getting a higher percentage discount. However, Walmart.com only accepts a maximum of 5 gift cards per order. So now I have 13 extra Walmart gift cards. Frugal fail.

@nitsuj1225 Thanks for the tip about using TopCashBack for Raise.com. I started using TopCashBack recently and had no idea I was missing out on an extra couple of percentage points. I also didn't know about the weekend deals.
