Dialing down food cost at work
« on: June 26, 2014, 05:06:28 AM »
Today was my low spending peak, and I will remain there because I've discovered that I can take only the salad bowl (with about 250 g of pasta salad and lettuce) of the menu in our company's restaurant for 2 swiss francs, together with two huge slice of bread.

So my expense at work (not including transportation) today will be 2.60 swiss francs, including 2x coffee (30 cents each, company-sponsored), without having to do any kind of lunch preparation at home. I don't think I could ever beat this unless I would start baking my own bread.

This truly feels great. When I was in the university in Zurich only one coffee for students would have cost me 2.30, and my food expenses were around 10 chf a day as student. I was foolish.

Agree - very nice. Adding a piece of fruit would round out a nice daily meal!
