Cut my commute time by nearly 90%!

My husband and I just moved to a new city. Because my commute in the old city was so horrendous (2.5-3 hours a day for a 36 mi round trip commute), my number one priority when finding a new place to live was cutting commute time. Well, we found a place 10 minutes from the new office! I'm so relieved. I did the math and it's something like 500+ hours a year of my life that I'm going to get back.

Oh, and we're downsizing by a good 1k square feet, too.

I did that once, cut a 2 hour drive to a 5 minute walk. Couldn't believe all the free time I had created. Do you have any big plans on how to fill your free time.

Yup, I plan to work on shedding all the weight I put on from spending so much time in the car.

I'm looking forward to this too, I start work in a much closer location in the first week of September, I had a reasonably short commute (10 minutes drive) but now it will be walkable, my plan is to bus it up to work place and walk the approximately 3kms which will be a relaxing way to decompress from the work day and be my daily exercise which is non existent for the moment.

That's awesome, congrats! It's shocking once you do the math and see how much of your life you get back with a shorter commute.
