** Caution :: Shameless Bragging Ahead!!

FINALLY! After working on paying off all our debt since 10/2012, we are finally down to just a student loan and a mortgage! During this time we have paid off $10,152.72 in credit cards (we called this our 'dumb debt'). Also, we refinanced our home from a 30 yr FHA loan at 5%, down to a 15yr loan at 3.5%, paying off $32,387.10 in principle (we call this and our student loan our 'ok, at least we got something really great out of it - debt"). We still have a loooooonnnnnggggg three years of careful budgeting ahead to get totally FREE, but, WOOOOOOoooOOOoooOO, no more credit card debt is feeling super sweet!!

Quite an accomplishment! It's amazing how "careful budgeting" can have a snowball effect on your cash flow, allowing you to direct more of it to pay down debt. Once you start shaving off some of your expenses, you realize how you can shave off more. Just keep asking yourself "Do I really "need" this?" "Is there a way I could get this for less, or even FREE?" Once you start looking closely, it's amazing what one can do to bring down their daily living costs. Keep up the great work.
