Journey to $250,000

I am writing this on a lazy Sunday afternoon. This blog post will be published once I get past a net worth of $250,000.

I have a paid off house, which I am not counting towards the net worth. To me, a house is not much of an asset, just like a car isn't. Its an expense. I have been consistent in the way I calculated net worth.

I was quite close to reaching this milestone in September of 2018, but due to the stock market downturn, I narrowly missed it. The way things are going, I suspect I will reach this by March of 2019. This of course assumes that the stock market will hold steady.

My current allocation is heavily weighted towards US stocks. I intend to diversify this in the future. Below is a snapshot of my investments as of December 20, 2018.

Here is a breakdown provided by Personal Capital which is more recent

I will update my spreadsheet on January 16, 2019. I will post a new snapshot once I have it.
