Cell phone service transfer - newbie at Ting!

Today I decided to start with Ting; since they don't support my iPhone version, I got their cheapest, stupidest phone (88$ brand new) and will continue using my iPhone at work and home where I have constant WiFi for streaming music and email and all the other crap I shouldn't be paying for.  The mobile devices thread worked wonders to get me mad about services I don't use but still pay for.

In July I jumped from AT&T (73$ / month) to TMobile (58$ / month) for the same services, and Ting says I'll average 17$ with their services - probably less, since the cell phone doesn't sound as text or data friendly anyway.  So today I ordered my Ting stuff and by Christmas I'll have gifted myself an extra 40$ a month. Bam!

Just did the same thing.  I idiotically signed my soul away to the devil at AT&T back in September....I am not much of a tech guy but I have found many uses for my iphone.  Deep sixed my contract.  I was able to sell my iphone 5 for 350$ and buy an old iphone 4 for 300.  Ting will refund 25% of my etf.  Coming out way ahead.  The old bill will taxes etc. 110$ a month.  My new bill is running 35$.  They are also a great company to deal with on the customer service front.  Just awesome.

Congrats. I recently joined Ting also. I can't believe how much money I was throwing away with AT&T, and for how long. Oh well...better late than never.
