Card-Carrying Mustachian
« on: July 18, 2014, 02:20:03 PM »
I end up talking about Mustachianism to many people, and I kept coming up short in getting the main points across.

So I created a printed out card that I keep in my wallet. It’s pretty simple, but it goes over (what I feel are) the main points from the blog:

The 10 cardinal rules of Mustachianism
1) The goal is badassity.
2) Frugality is the New Fanciness
3) early retirement is shockingly simple
4) Do you have a Debt Emergency?
5) middle class life is an exploding volcano of wastefulness
6) Clown-like car habits / you need to ride a bike.
7) Stop being a complainypants
8) The Practical Benefits of Outrageous Optimism
9) get rich with: (bikes, DIY, blogging, libraries etc.)
10) its not really about the money, Stoic.

Photos attached.

Thought maybe you guys had better ones than me. If we can find a set people are more satisfied with, I'd be happy to whip up a downloadable printable PDF that people can make their own cards with.

Then we can add another level of badassity to the mustachian club by checking whether people are ‘card carrying mustachians’ or not…plus add a bit more fun to the whole thing.

Badassity Evangelist,

Oliver

Hah, that's fun.  Definitely add a URL on there (or throw a .com into the logo).  I can't see using these, but for the right personality it'd be fun to hand them out.  :)
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
