Car passed the test!!
« on: August 09, 2014, 08:00:21 AM »
I have a 1999 Renault Clio, that I got in 2002. It gets 45mpg (official figures - I have never measured, but hopefully with hypermiling I get more).

I learned to drive in it at the age of 18, and am still driving it at age 30, now with a carseat in the back.
I get loads of comments about still driving my "teenager" car, but it still works, so I still drive it.

I just brought it in for its annual government car test (called the NCT - kind of like the MOT or smog testing) - a legal requirement.

IT PASSED!!!!

Here's to many more years of happy driving!

Congrats! I wish we had a good selection of small economical cars (especially hatchbacks) here in the United States like there are in Europe.

Is that 45 mpg rating using imperial gallons? One US gallon is about 83% the size of an imperial gallon, so 45 mpg (imperial) is approximately 37 mpg (US).
