I would too but I just signed up for the United mileage card which offered 50,000miles if you spend $2000 in 3 months.. I might not make it though.

Thanks for the tip on that Capital One 360 card.  I'll check it out, but I'm pretty sure my next one is going to be the Chase Sapphire Preferred (40K points good for $400 if you spend $3000 in 3 months).

I got the Sapphire Preferred recently.  You can get an extra 5,000 points if you add an authorized user.  That's 45,000 total!

Yes thats a good deal if your a big spender.. I wouldn't get anywhere close to that with our monthly outlay.

In fact I will only get $2000 in 3 months if I get another business trip in that time.

I can pay our $1142/month health insurance premium on a credit card - sign me up!

I was planning on using the Chase Quicksilver (1.5% cash back on everything, no annual fee), but I keep looking for a better deal.

Look into manufactured spending techniques. You can use an Amex Serve to MS $1000 a month, fee free.
You can also buy gift cards to stores that you already shop at.
You can also buy prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift cards, usually $500 for $5 fee (and the fee is always worth it if that's the only way you can meet a signup bonus).

I'm also in a similar same position as you - I just barely spend $1000 in 3 months, so meeting anything higher than that is not possible with normal spending. But I have MS'd $2500 in one month to meet signup bonuses. I actually made money doing this because I bought Visa gift cards at a Best Buy, and Amex had an offer of $25 back on $250+ at Best Buy, which cancelled out the Visa gift card fees and still had money left over.

Oh yea and for people who are interested in the capital one 360 offer, Bank of America has the same deal on their Cash Rewards card - $100 for spending $500 in first 90 days.

I prefer the Chase Freedom card, with 0% fee and $200 cash back on $500 in spend.

I think Chase raised the spending requirement to $4,000 in 3 months.  Just FYI  :)
