2015 Mazda 6 still running great! Did need a new fuel pump last year but that' s all I've put into it besides tires and brakes. Just passed 124,000 miles!

2006 Honda CR-V LX. The only car I've ever purchased new because the 2 year old ones were just a couple thousand cheaper. First time buying a vehicle after getting married and decided to do a lot of research on Consumer Reports and regularly looked at the Clark Howard forums. Tried this "new" technique of emailing several Honda dealerships to give me their best price. Took the best offer and made an appointment.

Remembered to negotiate the price of the new car separately from the trade-in (You can't 4-square me). Didn't mention a monthly budget, we're talking about the "full price including everything but tax" says me. Repeat phrase several times. Agree on $19k. Decided to take Honda's 4% financing because we couldn't pay cash at the time. Get dropped off at Finance office. Finance man says, "Here's a couple of extra charges ..."

I say, "I negotiated the full price - talk to the salesperson."

He stared at me.

I stared back.

He dropped the extra charges. I was really proud of myself.

The CR-V ("Certified Racing Vehicle" as my kids like to joke) took all my kids home from the hospital and now my oldest is learning to drive on it. No rust. Has never left me stranded. 212,000 miles and going strong.
Ha, we did the same with the 2006 Matrix.  176k+ miles.  My oldest didn't learn to drive on it - he learned to drive on the '09 Civic.  I'm still driving the Matrix though.  Love it.  Not even sure what the next replacement  car will be.  I expect the oldest will need a car at college in 2026, when he starts his junior year.  He'll prob get the Civic.  I'll still be driving the Matrix.

The fourth Matrix plastic handle finally broke off this weekend.  Time for another replacement.

My motorcycle clocked over 130,000 kms recently.  Does that count?
YES IT DOES!! I put close to 200k miles on one of my motorcycles that I had for over 15 years. Much of that time it was my only vehicle. Mostly commuting and just getting around when I couldn't ride my bicycle but also very long camping trips (months at a time) post-FIRE. Cheap to buy, cheap to own, and easy to maintain. And, oh yeah, fun!

I'm still car-free (6 years now) but did get a new motorcycle last month after a few years of being motorcycle-free to use for longer distance trips and "bike touring/camping" (sports bike so not really good for that).

Car-wise before going car-free I had a 2001 Ford Ranger that I sold in 2019 and it had about 150 miles on it. My sister is still driving a Nissan she bought new in 2000 and has over 300k miles on it. BF has an older (2014 or 2015?) Ford F150 with over 100k miles.

Still rolling in 2010 Volkswagen CC, now 109k miles.

Trunk latch sticky, two minor blemishes on paint job, cosmetic flaw in tinting on passenger windows, tire pressure sensor overly sensitive. All driving systems in excellent shape; new tires should last most of the decade.

No plans to change yet.

My 2013 Honda Accord just crossed 66,000 miles. It has served me beautifully across four states, three jobs, and now two kids. Good chance it lasts my family at least another decade, though we might have to figure out how to fit three car seats across in the back sometime in the next two years :p
Clek is the way! If three fit in a Fit, I would guess three fit in an Accord.

Brilliant! I’ll look into it, thanks for the tip.

So I'm going for high mileage in an EV we bought used last year with 31K miles. I'll be back in about a decade to check in... ;)

Due to family circumstances, we've put about 20K miles on the EV already in just a year. Normally we don't drive nearly that much in a year but we did.

I finally managed to find a first-generation Toyota Tacoma in good condition, with surprisingly low mileage. I feel like I joined a club. The mechanics who inspected it looked at me as if impressed and told me, "See you never!" An old woman saw it and poured out a tale of how much she had loved hers, how she had let it go after being T-boned, but she wished she hadn't, because it was a better truck even with a door that never would seal again than the new Ford Ranger she bought after it.

Only problem is that I am absolutely wretched with a manual and have spent the month I have owned it driving around the neighborhood and having genuine panic attacks every time I stall out at a light, yikes.

Y'all are making my 2008 Sienna minivan with 122k miles feel young. I think it may need its first spark plug replacement soon-ish but otherwise, no problems. Similar to the "See you never" Tacoma, our mechanic said "With basic maintenance you can probably take it to 300k. I've seen more than one."

My sister has one that she bought at about 228,000! She loves it.

My Taco has 155,000. After I posted yesterday, a friend sent me a link to an article about "the million mile Tacoma."

Last summer we bought a 2001 Tacoma with 258k miles and a manual transmission. It's just to be a farm truck to help us haul around things that don't fit in our hatchbacks. Unfortunately the body is in pretty rough shape so who knows how much longer it will last for us. There's significant frame rust that no shop will touch so we're pretty conservative about how much weight we put in it and how far we'll drive it. Which is too bad because other than a mild serpentine belt squeal, the engine and transmission run very smoothly. We did get a cubic yard of mulch this week in it and he handled it like a champ

Our 2001 Toyota Solara is approaching her 200,000th mile. We may be upgrading soon only because we've been tentatively offered a 2016 Prius for free from family. Solara would be traded to my dad to become a beater car for teenagers.

Turns out it's a 2008 Prius with even more miles than the Solara and a lot of deferred maintenance. We won't be letting go of the Solara anytime soon, and debating whether to keep the Prius at all.

Yeah, body & frame rust is the downfall for Toyotas, especially where I live. The one I bought came from a state where road salt isn't a thing, and I'm getting it undercoated ASAP, so, fingers crosssed!

Be careful about what sort of undercoating you get. The non-permeable ones (like truck bed liner) can trap water next to the metal, and that's bad.  I'm a bigger fan of the semi-permeable coatings, like Woolwax, which you can DIY for not much money, if you can get your car up off the ground yourself.  Or, you may be able to find someone offering that service in your area.

Thanks! The one I am using is lanolin-based. I could DIY it but I'm afraid it would be hard to keep dirt out of it in my carport in this windy time of year. Luckily, I found somebody with a shop who is doing it for less than half what Maaco wanted. :)

2003 Jetta TDI 5 spd.  I bought this car 7 months ago from a buddy and it's crazy how much I love this stupid car.  It currently has 271k miles and gets about 45mpg.  I drive it everywhere!!!  Best part is I haven't put more than 800 miles on my truck since I bought this car, so it's probably paid for itself just in fuel savings.

Related:  A volunteer friend mentioned that the struts/shocks that support the rear lift gate were losing their staying power and that Lexus wanted $850 to replace them. "That's absurd," says I. "Order a new set on Amazon and bring them to our house. Mr. Dicey will replace them for you." She found a set for $40, and Mr. D popped them in five minutes. As we were chatting, she told us it's a 2012 and it only has 70,000 miles on it. I complimented the unusual color and she responded that she had bought the very last car on the lot of the previous year's model, because they wanted to get rid of it and gave her a great price. It's not high mileage, but it is getting a bit long in the tooth for the "average" driver. The other vehicles in our driveway are 2002, 2012, and 2014, so hers was in good company and fit right in.

My grandfather's last car was a color that could only be described as "baby-shit yellow" (if you know, you know).  He was notoriously cheap and got the deal of a lifetime on it when he traded in his bright red F150 during Cash for Clunkers.

The new car apparently lost a wheel balancing weight. 15+ year old honda fit to the rescue! I don't love doing a 400 mile trip in it, but being able to do road speed on the interstate is important.
