Bought a pair of shorts today
« on: January 03, 2016, 10:02:00 PM »
On special, $16 down from $20. Then I tried to cast my mind back to when I last bought clothing. It was just over 18 months ago - three pairs of socks and a t-shirt. For a mid-30s guy who used to have a $10,000/year clothes shopping habit let me tell you this is really something.

Well done!

I recently bought some t-shirts at large Savers, which is an Op-shop. The range was huge and the price great at $5 to $8. Or so I thought. My wife bought me some t-shirts from Target as a Christmas present; turns out they were $4 each. I had always figured op-shop clothers were cheaper. Odd.

I think as far as clothes and poor people are concerned, 1) there are less poor people, and 2) there are a lot cheaper clothes available than when "Op Shop" was a place you could go when you were struggling. There are still a few around, but most of the ones affiliated with a church/charity throw out a lot of donated stuff, and just stock things they know they can sell for a few bucks.

Though if my clothes are still costing 2-4x what you're paying then maybe I'm not as badass as I thought lol

I am still going to give you props for the big reduction on your close horse habit :)

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
