I recently converted to wet shaving, even before discovering MMM. I converted because I was frustrated with razor burn, expense of cartridge razors, and crappy shaves from electric razors. I was then happy to discover how ridiculously inexpensive it is compared to cartridge razor shaving, for a closer, less irritating, better shave.
I use Edwin Jagger DE8911 razor with Crystal blades, and a cheapo boar's hair brush with DR Harris shaving soap. I get 100 blades for $12.00 and can get 5 two-pass shaves out of each blade. Figuring 250 shaves per year, that's two years worth of shaving for $12.00!!! I'm almost 3 months into the puck of DR Harris shaving soap and can hardly tell I've made dent. At this rate I would not be surprised if it lasted a year or more (but this is my first shaving soap puck, so I don't know for sure how long they last).
After transitioning to traditional shaving, my cost per shave went down from probably 25 to 30 cents per shave to about 5 cents per shave, and the quality of my shaves went WAY up. I used to HATE shaving with a passion, but now it is something I enjoy and look forward to every day. Doesn't get much more Mustachian than that!!!

I just keep a beard. :)

I just removed 2 weeks of unchecked growth with a 20 cent disposable and some water. I usually use an electric and then quickly catch the misses with a disposable. Maybe using a new disposable every 3-6 months. I've never gotten new blades for my electric.

I use Harry' blades and cream. Electric shavers chews up and burns my face and regular multi-blade disposables cost the price of gold. Harry's is much cheaper, but not the super cheap kind. It feels like a $1m shave, better than the one that rhymes will roulette and in fact gets sharper for the first number of shaves and stays sharper much longer (like the website says). I'm a Harry's fan. My face is happy. https://www.harrys.com/ I don't receive any form of compensation for this endorsement :)

I received a Gillette Mach 3 razor during college as a 'gift' from Gillette to get me buying their blades. I shave in the shower, with just the warm water spraying on my face. Afterwards I hang the razor up to dry out. I am on my second pack of replacement blades which I think have 4 or 6 blades since I have had it. I graduated college 16 years ago so I've probably had it 18 years. Sure the soft gel stuff wears off quickly with a new blade, but I'm not cutting myself and my face is not scarred up so I see no reason to put a new blade on.

I buy a 20pack of disposables for 1.99 and make them last 2-3 months EACH.
Get out of the shower, lather up with a little dish soap (yes dish soap) and scrape it off.
Razor gets replaced when it leaves gnarly stubble.
Life's too short wasting $$ and time on shaving hair that just keeps coming back!! :)

I love my Traditional wet shave routine.

Just started using a safety razor this week. Keep knicking myself, but every time I shave I get better and better at closer and less knicks. Here are the products:
Actual safety razor:

Shark blades for now, but bought 100 swordsman blades:

Badger hair brush (which I love when hot!):

Styptic Pencil: your typical clubman styptic pencil for those damn cuts.
Startup cost: $90, and I realize there isn't a *significant* difference between wet and electric, but I place I high value on the experience itself, and I imagine it will be quite a while before I have to do any replacing whatsoever.
I love having a hot shower (or cold, I can't tell a difference at my newbie level) and I just wash my face with hot water before shaving, combined with hot shaving cream for a nice feeling.
It takes some learning, which I am still in the middle of, but I just achieved a neck shave that I have never, ever gotten even with a high-powered electric shaver. Any cuts quickly seal up with a styptic pencil.
Plus, I feel and smell like I could wrestle, and win, against a bull moose. Its an excellent feeling.
