Tell us more! What's your asset allocation look like? What's the story on your rental? Congrats!

Dynamite!  Does that put you close to FI?  Halfway there?  20% there?  :)
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Awesome! I would also be interested in hearing about the allocation information.

Sure, here is some additional info.

Rental: This is a townhouse that was our primary residence until 3 years ago when we moved. We decided to hire a property management company to rent it out for us instead of selling. Last year was the first year we changed tenants. Also the first year we raised the rent (changed in June). With no unexpected expanses, it cash flows up to $730 a month after mortgage and hoa fees.

Investments: About 80% of my holdings are in VTTHX. This explain the large increase in December. I have a bit in the Vanguard admiral REIT fund and some in Vanguard or Fidelity S&P 500 funds. I do have some money in taxable accounts that provide a little over $100 a month in dividend income. Working on increasing this.

I averaged just over $20 a month on interest on savings last year also.

Hope this answers some questions.

Thanks!

Haha, for a second I thought the subject of your post meant that you were almost broke but had 2k in passive income.  I was confused!

Amazing ! Good Job man ! I cannot believe that they never taught any of this stuff in school. Well that's probably because John D Rockefeller started the general education board in 1903 and stated that he wanted a nation of workers. Not thinkers.
